Pandemic buying : dive into the European COVID-19 tenders data
The pandemics caught European governments unprepared. Very suddenly, a lot of specific equipment and supplies were needed - and fast. As a result, millions of euros were spent without any competition. Moreover, some countries to this day refuse to publish any data about their pandemic buying.

Where did the money go? Who got it? And what did we get back for it?

OCCRP has compiled a unique data set containing as many COVID-19 related tenders as could be found in Europe and opened it up for the public. Adriana Homolová, the data coordinator of the project, will walk you through the 21 billion euro worth of tender data and explain where your stories might be hiding.
