Digital harassment: A threat against press freedom

An increasing number of journalists experience digital harassment as a consequence of their work. It ranges from harassing comments on social media to coordinated campaigns with the purpose of intimidating the journalist. It can lead to stress, depression and self censorship, and is therefor also a serious threat against press freedom. In this session we look closer at the problem – where does it happen and who are the people behind it – and discuss hands on what you can do if you or your colleague are targeted.
