Whistleblowers take great risks to bring information to the public. Media set up secure portals for contact, but are we as journalists skilled enough to handle the risks that whistleblowers run in working with them? In order to help sustain an independent press and protect employees who report wrongdoing, abuses of power, and crimes, we need to know how to have secure and effective communication between whistleblowers, whistleblower support organisations and journalists. Whistleblower International Network trains journalists to work securely with whistleblowers, and executive director Anna Myers take you through the steps.
