While being funded by donor foundations is going to continue as the or one of the key sources of funding for non-profit journalism, there are other possible sources of funding available for entrepreneuring journalistic organisations. What about renting out coworking space? Why not consider becoming a coop so that journalists and audience members are co-owners and stakeholders? What if you establish yourselves as a freelance collective that publishes through media partners? In this session we explore alternative ways for freelancers and non-profit newsrooms to fund their work.
