Nine principles for ethical use of AI

Automated journalism is everywhere. Robots write articles, algorithms help research and find stories, and we even personalize the distribution. How do we safeguard journalistic ethics in automated journalism? How do we ensure transparency and avoid bias, how do we secure checks and balances in the system, and how do we take responsibility when it fails? Who needs to understand the system - and what about privacy?
A year ago, Andreas Marckmann Andreassen started a fellowship studying automation in the media, and in September he publishes a guide-style book in Danish. An English version follows in 2021. At DataHarvest, Andreas will share his 9 principles for ethical automation.
