Build patterns to extract data with the powerful and wonderful Regex tool. Rob Gebeloff of the New York Times will introduce you to a powerful syntax library that can help you clean up your data, or turn text into something tabular that you can pop into your spreadsheet or database program. This session is for journalists who already know the basics but want to venture more into programming and for advanced data journalists in any language looking for new tools in the fight against dirty data.
